I recently visited #Jakarta, #Indonesia.
I met up with several friends, mostly #businesspeople.
#Indonesia is certainly on track again.
The growth of the middle class, the urbanisation trend, etc.
It is on track to becoming a middle income country by sometime in 2030s.
That means more #investmentopportunities which smart people can see and do something about.
It used to be that people knew #Bali but didn't know #Indonesia.
It's changing.
Indonesia as the largest economy in ASEAN as well as the 7th largest economy in the world by GDP PPP can no longer be ignored.
Soon it may eclipse Germany in terms of GDP PPP. It is so close to it based on the table above.

It's the fact that we got to live with and more importantly, adapt to accordingly.

We now live in the world where the #G7 is no longer as absolutely dominant as before. It is the #G20 that has more voice in the direction of the #globaleconomy.
That's why the geopolitical forces such as #oil, among other things, are also shifting.
Indonesia, I believe, will have more and more #investmentgrade assets worth investing into.
Global #portfoliomanagers can no longer ignore the realities that the global ranks are no longer as dominated by the western #economies and they need to do something about their funds allocation.

1 年Nice article pak Andre Hsu! Negara kita sebenarnya sudah sedari dulu geliat ekonominya cepat sekali. Bahkan ketika negara lain (US contohnya) goncang hebat perekonomiannya, negara kita masih cenderung naik trend perekonomiannya. Saya sampai kaget waktu pulang ke Jakarta bulan desember tahun lalu, bisnis F&B, fintech, dll itu udah jauh berkembang. Bahkan tukang kaki lima di pinggir jalan pun sudah cashless, bisa bayar pakai QRIS. Jepang saja kemana-mana masih harus bayar cash, banyak resto yang belum bisa cashless. Kaget banget saya. Anyway, mantap pak artikelnya semoga bisa mendorong investor dari negara lain untuk invest di Indonesia.
