Prospects: The Robotics Club
Not strictly robotics, not a conventional club either !

Prospects: The Robotics Club

Two months. It's so much time and at once so little! What started out as a small student body with a motto of ideation and application of science has incredibly turned into an enterprising organization with 8 divisions, each catering to a different aspect of bringing ideas to life!

This article is to share the rather unexpected progress we've made and to convey what the organization brings to everybody who joins: as a team member or a collaborator.

The story of our progress is captured in that of the conception of our three premier divisions:

The Ideation and Entrepreneurship Cell: Founded and formed first, this is the heart of the club, a place where ideas are forged and unconventional, creative use of science in problem-solving encouraged. We have a strong motivation: Entrepreneurs from IISc.

Smart, highly driven individuals, rigorously trained in interdisciplinary sciences taking on real-world problems, working with their own teams to drive fast-paced change, and not rendered complacent in red taped labs.

Read more about the same in the upcoming post on the division and it's Convenors: Sanjith Cumarasurier and Sagar Nanda .

Division 1: Named so to reflect the priority of the division in the club's infrastructure, Division 1 has a special purpose: to work on others' ideas. Collaborating individuals, startups, and enterprises can loan out projects to the club, and we return a prototype in the specified timeline in exchange for funds.

For participants, it's an internship cell where they gain corporate working experience and work on projects with real-world significance. For corporates, they gain a team of pre-trained interns to whom they can assign work with minimal monitoring and input.

Read more about this and the amazing people who have collaborated with us, loaning projects in fields from #medtech to #astrophysics, in the upcoming post on the division and its Convenors: Anindya Guria and PUGAZHENDHI A D .

Division O: Named to reflect its centricity, division O is the skilling division of the club. With each collaborator, we shall co-design a crash course in the fields that they want their interns to be trained in.

Workshops by renowned educators like Naxxatra Sciences and Collaborative Research and independent courses created by IISc UG students shall be put out from time to time for participants to explore their interests.

Handled by Sourabh Peruri , this division promises to be one of exploration, discovery, and most -importantly, cohesion - it's the glue that binds the club together in science, that provides nourishment to ideation. Read more in the upcoming post!

The upcoming division-wise posts will elaborate on our future plans and the projects we've taken up and completed so far. It's been an incredible journey that started with a dreamer who fancied himself as an inventor.

I am Dhruv Gupta , the Founder, and director of this organization. I am incredibly grateful for the opportunities that have come into our grasp with the inception of The Robotics Club but at the same time would highly appreciate any mentorship or sponsorship that will help us grow and achieve all that we set out to.

If you want to join or contribute, please reach out to me on LinkedIn or our Twitter Handle. Let's build a better future by investing in directed ideation, because, change starts with an idea !
