Prospecting Perfect Plumber!

Isn't prospecting perfect plumber is real problematic in the era of Alexa-controlled Echo devices? Yes, it is problematic in the era of Google Assistant too. Mostly the plumbers will never come on time, they are unskilled or shall demand astronomical fees.

Recently I tried my hands on prospecting perfect plumber. Plumber number 1 did the quick job but few days later problem surfaced. I called him again and he promised me that he will come in 30 minutes but he never turned up. Again I called him and he said tomorrow. And thus I called him total 7 (seven) times. But somehow, he avoided but I kept in touch with him. My patience was depleting. A small job, a small plumber, what the heck. So, I tried plumber number 2 and he was quick professional. Took speed money and problem was solved. No, problem re-surfaced. Again I called plumber number 2 and he was too busy. A small job, a small plumber, the story continued. So, I tried another plumber number 3. He was referred to me by trustworthy source. He came, he delivered, excellent job and happy money. But problem stayed. So prospecting the perfect plumber cycle continued and now it was time to dial plumber number 4 and calls were unattended. A small job, a small plumber. But I continued to remind plumber number 1 politely and persistently. This was precisely my The (8th) Eighth attempt. And this time he obliged and was available very next morning and fixed the problem permanently. He was happy with Coffee, Box of Chocolates as Diwali Gift and his fees.

What I learnt in prospecting the perfect plumber cycle can be enlisted as below:-

1. Things might go wrong at times but respect the skills and talents of the person.
2. Not everything can be fixed online. Human beings and emotions are more precious. Stay away from Lead Aggregators.
3. Work till - I am OK You are OK - stage.
4. Reward the person more than his expectations.
