Embracing the Attention Economy

Today our biggest battle is against the constant noise, the unending stream of information vying for attention. Consider how many messages your customers get each day. What makes yours so special that they will take time to give it attention?

There are 2 keys to capturing attention.

?? #1: Consistency.

It's not about being perfect or delivering the perfect pitch every time. It's about showing up, being present, and genuinely engaging.

Just like sifting for gold, the valuable connections and opportunities will surface over time as we maintain our rhythm.

?? #2: Content style.

No more pitchy pitchy salesy salesy messages. They simply don't capture attention. Be forward thinking. Create and share content like questions customers are asking, challenges they face now and in the future. Your content should read like an executive strategy brief and not like an old school brochure.

Humanizing Our Approach

The most impactful interactions I've observed are the ones that are unmistakably human. They're not always the most polished or meticulously planned, but they're genuine.

In fact, I know a few people how use typos as a strategy to demonstrate their content is not automated. Odd right?

Great comments and published content about our real life experiences speak to our shared experiences, challenges, and triumphs in the professional world.

Remember, LinkedIn is not just a platform; it's a community where authenticity and relevance reign supreme.

Building Genuine Connections

One takeaway from recent discussions and experiences is the undeniable value of building meaningful connections. It's about going beyond the surface, fostering relationships where there is mutual respect and genuine interest.

When we shift our focus from transactional to relational, the impact is palpable not just in our pipelines but in our professional journeys.

Last week I received 3 messages from prospective customers asking me for time for a call. Why? My consistency of sharing forward-thinking content that speaks to them and their daily challenges in their role caught their attention. One of them said, "I have really enjoyed your content lately. You seem to understand what we are struggling with. Can we schedule time to talk because I would like to learn more about what your company offers."

You see, no selling. And, yet, my pipeline is full of qualified opportunities.

The Ripple Effect of Engagement

Engaging with your network, sharing insights, and contributing to conversations can have ripple effects that extends far beyond your immediate connections.

It's about creating value, sparking thought-provoking dialogues, and being a catalyst for conversation and growth within our communities.
