Pros of cross-platform games like Goddess of Victory: Nikke ( ?? ? ?? )

Cross-platform games are not a very popular genre, but damn handy. Recently, I have been actively "stuck" in the game?Goddess of Victory: Nikke, and it's not due to my hidden fantasies or other psychological problems ?? In fact, I admire the implementation of the game for mobile & the PC version. I think?Level Infinite?and SHIFT UP Corporation have managed to do something different, beautiful, clever, and the best cross-platform game. I'll explain why I think so!

Initially, the game was released on mobile & was available for download in the AppStore and Google Play, and on February 15, the PC version became available. Since the game is an immersive shooter, trying to play it on PC was my desire. I didn't want to download any dubious emulators + I wanted to play the official version without third-party programs.

A game character named Soda. Modesty, it's not about the characters in Goddess of Victory: Nikke

Anyway, I won't keep you in suspense. That's the pluses of the game:

  • Full synchronization of progress between the PC & the mobile version. Past the halfway point on the PC? No problem, continue playing on your phone. I have one account on my work computer, another on my phone, and a third on my home computer. Why? The game is in the genre of gacha, and very hard to get the meta characters. So I make myself a good pool of characters & then choose 1 account as the main. Is that convenient? Hell yes!
  • Graphics.?The game looks great on both. Moreover, the PC is even more beautiful, although you can sometimes see the minor sins of graphics Live2D. I'm not just because the monitor loin parts of the female body look better.
  • Perfect time killer & recreational game.?The game hardly distracts you at all. You can turn on auto mode, in which your android waifus will fight and use their abilities. When I work, I have the game running on my second monitor most of the time, and I get distracted during breaks to upgrade my characters.
  • The game is no different.?Yes, this may carry over to the first point, but! The mobile game and the PC game are one game! It's not two separate parts, like with PUBG or Azur Lane (Azur Lane Crosswave). The developers were very clever & followed in the footsteps of Genshin Impact. You'll say, "Damn, dude, it's a mobile port on PC" and I agree with you, but it's much better than the latest Tower of Fantasy or Honkai Impact (which is a nightmare if you don't feel sorry for your time, you can check it out on Steam)

Now let's move on to the implementation of the game from the game developer's side. What are the pros?

Cross-platform game development has several potential advantages:

  1. Increased Reach:?Cross-platform games can be played by a larger audience since players can access them on multiple platforms. By releasing a game on PC, mobile, and consoles, developers can reach players who prefer one platform over another, increasing the game's potential user base.
  2. Consistent User Experience:?With synchronized game progress across platforms, players can pick up where they left off on any device, making the game experience seamless and consistent. This allows players to switch between platforms without losing progress or having to start over. It's lovely!
  3. Lower Development Costs:?Cross-platform game development can reduce the overall cost of game development since developers can use a single codebase for all platforms. This means developers don't need to create multiple game versions, saving time and money.
  4. Enhanced Social Features:?Cross-platform games can offer improved social features, such as leaderboards, social sharing, and multiplayer capabilities. Players on different platforms can play together, allowing for a larger player pool and improving the quality of the matchmaking experience.
  5. Increased Revenue:?By releasing a game on multiple platforms, developers can increase revenue since players have more opportunities to purchase the game or make in-game purchases. This can be particularly beneficial for games that rely on microtransactions, where having a more extensive player base can lead to more revenue.
