Working at home with no experience doesn’t mean you have to pass a certain exam to know if this kind of job is for you.It just means that you have to assess yourself first if you can live and be happy with this kind of working environment.

No more spending of money in riding public transport to go to work everyday, you don’t even have to spend money on buying lunch since you can just eat your food at home and also less costs in buying more clothes cause you don’t even have to show up to the office Monday to Friday.

You have to invest in a mid range laptop to be able to start, also good internet/WiFi. For you to be able to talk to your clients, upload files, download files. But in the long run you’ll only have to spend on a laptop once, unless you shift job positions. It’s actually gonna cost you less to spend on a laptop cause you’re gonna be saving a lot more from the food that you’re gonna take out for lunch and for snacks.

3.(Pros) Comfort

You’re in the comfort of your own home, you can stay on your bed, or your study table, or outside your veranda. You don’t have to stress about how you look all the time if you’re not doing video calls and you’ll feel safe. You don’t have to stress about meeting a lot of people and all other things that stress you out when you’re in a physical office gets taken away.

You’ll also be surrounded by family members, specially for working moms/dads who’re staying at home to be able to be with their kids and being able to work from home has that big advantage, being able to choose who your workmates are. Basically you get to choose your working environment, you get to customize your workplace. 

4.(Cons) It’s Not Always Comfy

You’ll struggle if you work on your desk for too long, one of the things that will affect you if you’re not aware of it is working long periods of time does affect your mental health if you don’t have the right foundations to it. 

So you might wanna go outside work in a coffee shop or in a working space, because it will help your brain think if you see new things and be able to relax.

Especially if you’re working on something really stressful if you’re releasing something for your client working late nights, going outside does help you adopt better.

5.(Pros) More Skills & Opportunity

Unlike when you’re in an office you’re just boxed in what position you are hired for. When you’re working from home you get to experiment a little bit more because you have a little bit more freedom . 

You don’t have the restriction because you can test out different skills, it’s more advantageous for someone if you have more skills rather than having just one specialty.

One of the biggest opportunities about working from home is you don’t really get questioned about your age. You just have more stuff to be able to do on the internet.

You’ll be able to work in the comfort of your own home while working with other people all around the world because of the broad opportunities given by the internet. 

Also more variety of things you can be doing, for example you want to be a writer you can easily search in the internet jobs for writers and you’ll see there are various kinds of writers verses when you’re working in a physical office there’s a limited number of writers.

There’s so many digital tools to learn that you have to keep in mind all the time if you’re going to take on many clients.

When working it’s a little bit complex you need a digital board sometimes.There’s tools already for that; Asana, Clickup, Airtable to name a few. Being able to keep up with a lot of digital tools can be daunting and scary if you’re not familiar with that. Employers also want if you’re already familiar with the tools they are using.

Unlike if you’re applying on physical jobs, working online you get to choose who you apply to. You get to choose the project that you wanna work with, especially if it’s something you’re interested in. Sometimes you get to choose the time zone that you like working with.You have more choice of who you work with when you’re working from home.

Because you’re not talking to someone one on one or personally, you’re tend to misread a couple of communication cues becayseyou don’t hear the tone of their voice a lot there’s a lot of misunderstood text or emails. If you’re not someone well versed or the right soft skills to be able to communicate right, it’s a little harder to get things across and get things done.

Having the autonomy to be able to work for yourself a lot of the time, because you’re choosing your clients for your workplace. You have that freedom rather than being chained to a desk and to a certain time. You don’t have the restrictions of someone that’s working in the office.

If you don’t have the discipline and the good working habits to be able to upkeep yourself when it comes to working from home everything else gets a little bit harder. 

If you don’t have the right routine, rhythm and discipline to keep working it’s going to fall apart. If you don’t have a list of things you need to do, you will fall apart because you’re given the freedom you have to take responsibility for your own tasks and projects.

You have to take responsibility for your tax stuff, government stuff and personal growth. At times you even need to enroll in courses to upgrade your skills.

Now that you know the Pros and Cons when working from home even with no experience you can access now if this is the right type of job for you.

Working from home is not for everyone, you need to know the line between the work and life balance. Because you are working where you live so the line is blurred, working from home is awesome.
