The Pros & Cons of AI Generated Content
Before we tackle the pros and cons, let's first understand what AI generated content is.
#AI generated content is content that is created using artificial intelligence technology. This type of content can be used to create content for a variety of platforms such as on your website, social media, or for creative purposes. It usually relies on algorithms or machine learning models to create content - ranging from short blurbs to articles or even books, and can also include audio, images and video.
Recently AI has become an even more popular tool for content creation with the release of #ChatGPT , (Chat Generative Pre-trained Transformer) which frankly has cause some (including me) to COMPLETELY LOSE THEIR MINDS.
ChatGPT, can analyze data, identify trends, and generate content that is can look and is most often accurate, be informative, and created instantaneously, all from just inputting questions...kinda like what we do when we Google something. Hum, no wonder Google is so up in arms over this newcomer. See https://www.nytimes.com/2022/12/21/technology/ai-chatgpt-google-search.html
But should we use A.I. to create our content? Let’s take a look at the pros and cons of using A.I. for content creation and marketing.
Pros of Using A.I.:
Brainstorming made easy
Personally, I find using AI for written content creation to be a lifesaver as my biggest issue was never knowing what to write. Whether it was long or short form content. Today, all I have to do is write a prompt or ask a questions and it spits back ideas that would take me hours if not days to come up with.
Found lost hours
A major benefit of using A.I. for content marketing is its ability to quickly create a massive amount of content in a short amount of time. Writing a blog post, once I knew what I wanted to talk about and conducted my research used to take me HOURS, now with either ChatGPT or Jasper (both built on Open.AI) takes me minutes and that includes me reviewing and personalizing the content to sound more like me. Oh and Jasper.ai enables users to add tone to their content. ?? Or even repurposing content which can take tens of hours can now take minutes to complete.
Saves me money
Using these tools have helped me save money and I know that in some if not all instances I am comparing using a machine to hiring a human. But not all entrepreneurs can afford to outsource their writing needs to a human. Outsourcing has its issues as well. In the past, I've had issues with the person not writing in my voice or using my vernacular. By using a machine, I can tweak for it to sound like me. Like what I am doing with this blog post.

Makes our lives easy
We see the benefits when we use YouTube to search for a solution to our problem and it auto suggests videos for us to watch or how #LinkedIn recommends connections for us to make, what about Gmail's ability to finish our sentences and let's not forget those bots we use to communicate with our website visitors.
Helps with SEO
And last, because we're dealing with a machine that in Chat's case has crawled the internet up to 2021, the results produced by Chat should be able to help improve our SEO capabilities. I'm testing this out as of this writing.
Cons of Using A.I.:
A lack of creativity is for sure one of the cons associated with using AI for content creation and marketing. When used incorrectly, AI-powered content lacks the personal touch that comes from humans. AI creates accurate and data-driven content, but it can’t think outside of the box or create content with a personal touch. For example, this blog was generated using my favorite AI writing tool, Jasper.ai. However, I didn't use it to write this entire blog post for me. I used it to get me started in the direction I wanted and then filled in my own content to provide that much needed personal touch I referenced earlier. Using tools like this speed up my content creation process and is simply used as a time saver.
AI also hinders human interaction, as AI robots are not capable of having conversations with customers like humans do. This makes it difficult for customers to get the answers they need in a timely manner.
AI content tools need users to be as specific as possible by providing as much information about what they want as they can. This can often be a challenge for users to do and results in AI content tools not being used correctly.
Finally, since these systems rely heavily on algorithm-driven analysis of existing data sets in order to formulate new ideas or insights, there is always the potential for bias or inaccuracy when it comes to generating outputs. In other words, make sure that you review and read your content that is created by these platforms before you publish. The last thing you would want if to post a statement that offends or goes against your own beliefs.
When it comes down to it, using Artificial Intelligence (A.I.) for creating content can be a great way for small business owners and entrepreneurs alike to save time and money while still producing high-quality results quickly and efficiently–but only if done correctly!
So before you decide whether this technology is right for your business, make sure you weigh all the pros and cons carefully so that you can make an informed decision about what's best for your company in terms of both cost savings and accuracy when it comes to creating top notch digital assets like blog posts, web pages, emails campaigns–and more! With careful consideration of both sides of the equation, you'll be well on your way towards achieving success with your digital marketing efforts!
