Proposed 2019 Cycling Fundraiser for Campbell College
SHOUT OUT TO CYCLISTS FOR YOUR FEEDBACK / REGISTRATION OF INTEREST PLEASE: we are eager to host an inaugural cycling fundraiser in 2019, adding another event to our proposed portfolio in celebration of Campbell College's 125th anniversary next year.
We know there are lots of OCs, current, past parents and other supporters who really enjoy cycling. Your feedback and all registrations of interest gratefully received as we assess feasibility, with thanks.
What is being considered, in consultation with provider and past parent Wild Atlantic Cycling, is a 6 day cycle taking in 'Ireland's Crown Route': starting & finishing at Campbell College in September 2019 (19-25th).
Availability: we would be limited to up to 24 cyclists
Proposed itinerary (designed to be a challenge and takes in an average of 60 or 85 miles each day - each day’s route designed with an optional extra 25 mile loop):
- Bused from Campbell after a suitably robust breakfast, cycling would follow the northern coastline from Killybegs, finishing in the east.
- Route would take in Slieve League Cliffs; Glengesh Pass (The Glen of the Swans); Portnoo Beach; Horn Head Loop; Tra Na Rossan; Fanad Head and Lighthouse; Mamore Gap; Malin Head; Greencastle to Magilligan Point by boat; Binevenagh Mountain & Gortmore Viewpoint; Mussenden Temple; Portstewart; Dunluce Castle; Giants Causeway; The Dark Hedges – Game of Thrones Location; Torr Head; Antrim Coast Road; Glenariff Glen.
We'll bespoke this trip further, with brew stops, lunches etc. being hosted in Campbell College and / or OC relevant locations.
Cost per participant for this fundraising event, in support of Campbell College, is proposed at £1,600 which includes hotel accommodation for 6 nights; breakfasts; brew stops; lunches; mechanical assistance; luggage transfer; GPX files/route for upload to GPS device; Transfer from CCB to start; Ferry Crossings.
Is this something you would be interested in participating in?
