Property Auction Update June 2022

Welcome to the June property auction update, that looks back at the auction activity in May and preceding periods. The total amount raised in May’s property auctions across UK auction houses was ￡480M, up 24% on May 2021. The last time this figure was exceeded was back in May 2018 when ￡507M was raised. Interestingly since then we saw ￡383M raised in May 2019, and unsurprisingly just ￡192M raised in May 2020.

Drilling into these numbers, only 10 of the 36 metrics we measure were downward, and of those, all but one was 3.1% or less. Commercial sales were up 40%, and residential up 17%.

The regional table above show a big uptick in auction property sales across the South West for the latest 3-month rolling period, between March 2022 and May 2022.
