Proper Maintenance for Grasses!

Happy Wednesday Plant Lovers!

Fall is one of my favorites seasons because I LOVE GRASSES! Anyone with me?!? Who doesn’t love the way grasses bring motion and that little extra pizazz to the fall season? I’ll never grow tired of the way grasses catch the light when backlit, or the way they add softness to a landscape; it just never gets old, never.  

Sadly, this can also be when I start to see grasses being pruned at the wrong time and then we all suffer with looking at nubs through the winter and the grasses eventual decline. JUST SAY NO TO NUBS! ?  Remember, depending on whether your grass is warm season or cool season growing dictates when you prune them. Linked below is the handout I created 3 years ago as a reminder of when to prune and how to properly maintain your grasses. Don’t forget, grasses can be the easiest category in your garden to care for and timing is everything.
