Promotion or New Level of Game?

I'm glad to receive this promotion news this month, its a very special month for me because it is also my birthday month. Came at the right time like a birthday gift.

How Promotion help in career advancement

I have not been keeping track of how well i did recent years, I have been keeping my team in place, looking at their performance every start of the month, reminding what have they achieve, how far they are away from the target "I" set for them.

This Promotion, doesn't help in my career advancement personally. Because the target from the previous level has tripled, only hitting target will receive annually bonus. Therefore it gave my team higher target to achieve, meaning if no target hit, I failed my duty as their so call "manager". This will become a risk to take up the new role.

But how it really help in career advancement in promotion? What we really want from a team manager? I wouldn't want to lead a team only sit in their comfort zone, saying things like "I am good with this $X earning yearly that i have earned". Usually those saying this have not even hit their target yearly and keep low sales figure to self-satisfied. What I really did to my team is to putting them in different "Zone" of game "Playing" level. As mentioned in my previous post, my career is a game.
