Promoting Site Safety Culture at BMTJV

Ian Hocking (LJM Group) was on site for the presentation of the Safety Interaction Training. The training is a continuation of a Safety Leadership Program commenced in 2019.

The safety interaction workshop highlights the importance of a positive safety culture and the role of leadership in influencing behaviors and culture with a strong emphasis on understanding and managing critical risks.?Safety Interactions are a key tool for engaging employees in this work.

Leaders participating in one of the workshops, which consist of an interactive “theory” session and a practical session based on coaching in Safety Interactions .

The program was developed in collaboration with the site leadership team. Case studies and site examples are used to highlight three ingredients of a positive safety culture:

Respect for People, Respect for Risk, Respect for Process.
