PROMO - Promises and guilt psychology - The need for $$$!

Just a short while back, I posted the offer coming to me from one of the US 39.900 PROMO companies. " Your music is unique, something special there " - I knew instantly they had NO CLUE about my music and wanted to sell promo with BIG promises. I wrote back and asked several times WHAT songs they found unique. Generic answer then No answer. This is STANDARD in musicbiz and even more since there are 17.000.000 artists in the world to make money on!

Now, don′t get me wrong, there ARE great promo companies out there, but also a vast number of NON SERIOUS so called companies with BIG promises, wanting you to PAY UP, and even certifying 3-5k every 3 months on streaming revenue!! Obviously, just like ANY licensing company, NO ONE can promise an artist such gainings due to the number of artists in the world and SUCH company do not decide the number of streaming or other income sources.

First - Make sure they KNOW who you are, how you sound, what they are going to do, what promises they make. Always remember, YOU are their source of income, so make sure you′re getting what you pay for, and ANY company assuring you WILL make a living as an artist on their promo, get out of there ASAP, since that′s decided by the AUDIENCE and what YOU offer as an artist.

THIS communication is from one PROMO company, using GUILT and psychology as BAIT, making you feel bad IF you don′t pay up and follow your dreams. No names to mention, but I found it so appauling that I made screenshots on this. AFTER blasting such ways of doing " money hungry " promo, I got blocked!

Yes, I know. I′m the worst nightmare for some, but I just can′t keep the LID ON! Too sincere, it′s true, but...It′s just the way I am, and hopefully it can help someone. REMEMBER, Do NOT bet all your savings on promo offers, risk it all to achieve your dream amongst 17 million artists. Step by step, and see where the future leads you.
