As promised, we helped kids!
Donating is an action that we all love to do. Isn’t it true that we all want to do good to others? Even with good intentions, all actions need to be coordinated. 2016 has been a very busy year for charity actions. The IT Unlock family had to go through many meetings in order to organize, vote, and make sure that our donations went to the right hands.
Thanks to our wonderful team, our foundation has taken the first step to our long-term commitment towards humanity. It is a small step, but we learned many things on the way that will enable us to give more in the future.
To that effect, I’d like to recognize the contribution of our IT Unlock family as a whole, our board of directors and our volunteers. Without your dedication in one way or another, it would have been harder to help the kids.
As our first charity mission, our board has voted to help out Calixa-Lavallée High School. That school is located in an underprivileged sector where many families can’t afford paying as little as $0.50 per day for their kids to have lunch. IT Unlock came to help 150 students. Our hope is that this small support, in the form of the comfort of food, will unlock these students’ potentials, leading to better school results and a brighter future.
That being said, we particularly would like to thank Shera Boucetta for representing our team and handing the check to the school. She worked hard and has been a true leader in many ways and we can’t thank her enough.
The reason why we need to highlight each of our charity missions is because promising is not enough. If there is no action, there is no result. Our promise is only good when kids get helped. Each time we help kids, it is a fact and not just a promise anymore.
The year 2017 will be a game changer. Our mission will be providing rice to kids. All our colleagues and existing clients will be able to vote for their charity mission. We will need more charity leaders and volunteers. I dearly invite you to stay tuned and we will be very happy to invite you to be part of something greater than yourself.
On that note, I’d like to share Churchill Winston’s quote: We make a living by what we get, we make a life by what we give.
