Not all broken promises break hearts.?But all broken promises do hurt.?Whether it's:?
In a business negotiation, it causes others to lose trust in us.?It's a core value.?
One of the top three priorities of my executive assistant is to make sure all the promises I make are kept. Over the years, I've developed a process to ensure that I remain faithful to my word.?
Here's a 6 step approach if you embrace all your relationships will improve. I PROMISE!??
?1. Decide if you want to make the promise and if you're confident you can keep it. If the answer is no to either question,?DON'T MAKE IT.
?2. If possible, do it immediately.
?3.?Write the promise down in a task or note file that you review at least twice a day.?Do this immediately. Otherwise, it's easy to forget. Writing it down keeps the promises top of mind.
?4. Attach a deadline.?Deadlines make it happen.
?5. Once you keep your promise, take it off your task list.?
6. Take pride in keeping your word and not letting someone else down.
