Promega Engineers New Enzyme to Significantly Reduce Stutter in Forensic DNA Analysis

This first-of-its-kind enzyme minimises stutter artifacts in STR analysis, enhancing the accuracy, efficiency and reliability of DNA profiling. Reduced stutter polymerase (RSP) dramatically simplifies mixed sample analysis and allows forensic analysts to generate accurate profiles of multiple contributors.

The "Prototype 27GY System" poster highlights a new eight-colour STR system, including the new RSP enzyme, focused on reducing stutter artifacts that complicate forensic DNA profiling. This system simplifies profile interpretation, mixture deconvolution, and determining the number of contributors (NOC).

Immunogenic Cell Death: Methods to Measure Damage Associated Molecular Patterns (DAMPS)

Traditional methods for quantifying DAMPs, key biomarkers of Immunogenic Cell Death (ICD), are often labour-intensive. The RealTime-Glo? Extracellular ATP Assay and Lumit? HMGB1 Immunoassay simplify this with an easy add-mix-measure format, increasing throughput and efficiency in ICD research. Together, they provide a convenient workflow for assessing in vitro ICD responses.
