When I started the project, I was getting pieces of work with timelines from my senior. The very first project after the Sales and marketing job was JREP-2, most construction engineers of my age might be feeling and laughing now at the traditional way of working the project, for the audience who do not understand JREP-2 (Jamnagar Refinery expansion project -Phase 2) @Vikas Panchal, Mehul Patel my good friends and Client, knows the efforts we put together. The first work of Oil and gas I received was to find the 4 number of spools from a huge spool yard, as the shutdown was going on in revamping units and few spool numbers were important for delivery. I got one permanent marker and 8 hours of time to do that_ I understand the first day that Projects have pre-defined start and end times and started to take care of some objectives. Oh, WOW, what was the objective behind spools finding, the agreement between senior and other mechanical engineers was that if the guy was able to find >=3 spools in the first day, he would be suitable for the site management work, Luckily by the end of the day, I was able to find the 3 spools from the list of 4, I have been allocated. Leave it about others, I got a chance to work from the next day to take up higher responsibilities, and the journey started. The days at construction sites are not easy, you really need to use your mind and energy to get the work done on time, The 2nd learning when I first time did the nozzle modification on an 80-meter tall column was that planning is the most important, analysis of pros and cons analysis is most important to avoid or the mitigation of Risks we are going to encounter. we did a mock trial on the ground by steel plate template marking to make sure that the actual job would take much time and effort, as the real situation was already simulated, and the actual journey was not so tough. " A Good Planner is always a good Executor" Time goes on, based on hard efforts, and I got a wider area and few leads to work on project area completion. The lesson was how good are you in doing the work by yourself made you SME. The 2nd part is how good you are at getting the potential out of another person along with your growth is leadership inside you, Here I do not want to compare management and Leadership as everyone has different opinions based on the project situations he or she traveled, The lesson here is management and Leadership go hand on hand, we can't consider as one alone is sufficient. That's it was learning from the first empire Reliance Industries Limited, Jamnagar, Stay tuned for the next learning of projects after 2008.
