#ProjectManagementMistakes: 7 Lessons From The Failed Building Project In Genesis 11

The story of the Tower Of Babel in Genesis 11 is a classic example of a failed project.

Here are some Project Management mistakes I identified while studying the scripture recently.

1. The building project failed because the Project Manager didn't take time to identify all the stakeholders involved.

2. The Project Manager only communicated project details to the team and left out the major stakeholder.

3. He or she didn't factor in external factors that might derail the project.

4. It's my opinion that the project manager also didn't state how long the project would take.

5. The risk level of the project was high priority and there was no risk response plan.

6. What initially would have been a positive risk, in terms of bragging rights and maybe more clientele soon turned into negative risk because of lack of proper risk management.

7. No team member was assigned the task of a risk owner. That is someone respinsible for identifying, evaluating, mitigating and resolving the risk.

That is why, when there was confusion, everyone got up and abandoned the project.

What other project management mistake did you identify from that chapter?
