#projectlogistics #projectcargo Show me the value...

Stories are told so that customers take value and learn from other’s challenges especially in the world of project logistics.

Whether it be those of incorrect procurement strategies or challenges with decision makers, project managers, inexperience, design challenges, hidden geophysical restrictions and factors which affect mobilization, cost and risk.?

Many lessons to learn and apply.?Listening to them and bringing them to the table when defining scope prior to RFI, RFQ for logistics inclusion and mobilization for your capital project.

Are these being documented and shared with project managers and internal decision makers to add big value within organizations such as engineering and stakeholders to add knowledge to their organizations and the final decision process?

Added lessons learned through difficult experiences filtering not only down the food chain but up the corporate ladder to the decision level??Realistically evaluated based on hard facts, past costs & anticipated costs/over runs?

Cost and pricing model reality whether cost plus or lump sum.?Economic bidding removing high-low bias to determine best-case mobilization challenges?

Realistic pricing based on operational models which would work??Are logistics providers quoting low and hoping for the best??Hoping they can re-source??Hoping their operational staff can handle the complexity of the project?

Does the service provider have the ability to "think-through" and "forward-think" to the end result??Is this end result in line with customer expectations and communicated in good form?

Or is it all just a mad scramble to the end??Hoping for the best.?Hoping for no changes in engineering design?

Challenges can and do occur on a daily basis.?Whether internal or via those produced by customers.?What's the impact?

Key being to identify and ask the right questions.?Looking for workable solutions to mobilize.?Compiling the data and information to ensure timelines are tightened.?Ensuring alternatives are in place for on time on cost deliverables.

Also key is ensuring each level of the decision process understands the impact on each other.?Operational impact on finance, legal impact on contractual, HSE impact on risk.?Cost impact on all services rendered.

With multiple decision makers involved at different levels within customer’s organizations this increases complexity to the extreme.?With different knowledge levels at each level, with different goals which are all aligned to the end goal.?Is this even possible?

Needing to speak to the people who manage the supply chain and the actual transportation from supplier to pad site might be the wisest decision of all.?People on the ground.

Before the dollars are spent, before the billable engineering hours are tallied and before the projects are stalled due to a multitude of reasons including governmental, commodity pricing, funding, environmental, regional or other.

Have a project??Determine roughly the equipment (from a past project) needed and make a call to a qualified project logistics company for high level 25,000 foot assessment of needed information as a precursor for future design, costs and mobilization.?

You will be very happy you did.

Our team looks forward to discussing your capital project whether it be in the Northern Arctic, the Central American jungle, at elevation in the Andes, the Gulf of Mexico or elsewhere globally.
