Projections of Ghana School Sports Participation in Numbers.

My passion for sports runs deep and it's not limited to basketball or football. My wish each day is to see the power of sports fully harnessed and used to impact lives and communities. The foundation of every industry is children and youth thus it cannot be overemphasised the importance of investing in children and youth-focused initiatives and programs in every industry. I am passionate about sports and one of my aspirations is to play a part in the development of Ghana's national school sports program. The school system is one of the most effective and efficient places to focus on when looking to develop a national sports program that is able to add value to the development of the nation.

In 2017, I wanted to know the number of young people playing sports across the country. After searching and asking around it was evident that I wasn't going to find it anywhere so I attempted to at least generate the numbers myself by forecasting the potential of Ghana's school sports program with some statistics. Below is the data I generated:

Please note that these numbers were independently generated by me with no scientific research formula. I would love for you to share your thoughts and knowledge on how we can better develop school sports in Ghana and across the continent.

My hope is that we can begin a conversation and bring together various individuals and stakeholders who are willing to invest their time, efforts, and network to make a difference in school sports across the continent.
