Project X Revealed: Journey into the Unknown with AI Experiments

To date, I have hinted and only shared this project with a few select people. The project has been in stealth mode, and I have been building it up slowly over the past six months.

In December, I added about 70 AI bots and made it a focus to go full in on a Conversational Website. This is the first step towards that, and I did it for good reason, as you will see below.

Without further ado, let’s jump in.

So what is the project, and what is the thinking behind it?

The goal of the project is help people become more self-aware via AI and other emerging technologies. The niche we chose is Personality.

At one time or another, we have all been curious about our own personalities and its impact on our lives. We have all thought about another person’s personality and how it impacts our interactions with them. Moreover, there is a good chance that you might have taken one or more personality tests in your life.

Market Analysis

Personality theory is inherently interesting and valuable, and it starts the process of introspection. There is a good chance that you might have taken one or more personality tests in your life.

As a result of this inherent curiosity, there is a high demand for this niche. Here is the traffic breakdown of five popular personality test websites.

A few of the things that really jump out are:

  • Traffic: Overall, personality-focused websites get plenty of traffic, and much of this traffic converts into leads. For example, Truity gets about 3 million visitors per month, and over 1 million complete their personality test! This niche has higher traffic than most other personal development topics.
  • Visit Duration: Taking a personality test takes time, and this pushes the average visit to about 5 minutes!
  • Bounce Rate: Quizzes are fun and engaging, leading to a low bounce rate.
  • Pages per Visit: After taking the quiz, the user wants to learn about their results, so they jump around from one page to the next.

Naturally, after a person completes a personality test, they are curious about connecting with others who have a similar personality. As a result, there are a number of communities focused on personality types on Facebook, Reddit, Discord, etc.

So in a nutshell, what we have here is a highly sticky niche with solid traffic that relates to a person’s identity, which is also ready for disruption.

The Opportunity: Dynamic Content

For much of the web, content is static. It is like a magazine, and the reader flips from page to page, precisely as we navigate from one page to the next on websites.

When the content is great, reading can be like a fun journey into someone else’s mind.

However, most of the time, we are reading because there is a question that we are trying to answer, and we hope that the 10 blue links from Google contain the answer.

We skim these SEO-optimized articles, trying to find what we are looking for, which feels a lot like trying to find a needle in a haystack, all the while trying to avoid the 101 ads that are popping out at us.

AI is changing this game by making the content dynamic and interactive. Now you can ask AI questions about the article or website and get specific answers. As this evolves, we will see more and more Conversational Websites.

Quizzes and Tests vs AI Chatbots

Websites with quizzes, polls, and tests were the first step towards dynamic content. The user engages with the quiz, gives it data, and then the website directs the user to the most relevant page.

The thing with quizzes is that they can be cumbersome. Many personality tests take over 20 minutes to complete. In some cases, it might be an hour, and the majority of website visitors won’t spend that much time on a test.

Conversational Personality Tests

The next generation of quizzes will be entirely conversational. You will talk with an AI, the AI will ask you a few questions and ascertain your personality. The AI will then be able to answer any questions you have regarding your results. Finally, the AI might suggest communities, tools, and products that are relevant to your personality and needs.

On a smaller scale, this is what I built:

  1. Product Genius AI: Answer 10 questions, and AI will reveal your primary trait and suggest a free program.
  2. Personality Games: You are the main character of an adventure, and you get to make a number of decisions that reveal your personality.
  3. Trait Tracer: Chat with AI and discover your Big 5 Traits
  4. Type Teller: MBTI Test using AI
  5. EnneaExplorer: Enneagram Test using AI

All of this is happening now; it is already here, but there is one more thing that will really blow your mind.

AI Systems for Predicting Personality

In the next 12–24 months, there will be AI systems that will be able to read your personality traits within seconds!

These AI systems will use audio, visual, and text data to interpret your tone of voice, body language, attitude, demeanor, and the content of your responses to identify your personality traits.

They will do this by creating, testing, and validating hypotheses in real time and quickly narrowing down your personality traits and what you are about. They will then be able to use this information to inform them on how to communicate with you and what words and ideas to lean on so that they can build a strong rapport. This type of technology can be used in any conversation between two parties, including sales, marketing, HR, recruiting, etc.

Ethical Considerations

Part of the goal of this project is to raise awareness so that people can see the implications of personality data, its usefulness, and its power. With awareness, we make it more likely that these sorts of AI systems are upheld to high ethical standards and that this type of data does not get abused.

NFTs amp; The Blockchain

One possible solution to data privacy and ownership is using NFTs and the blockchain.

Imagine owning all of your own data and having it stored on the blockchain as an NFT. This NFT will represent your digital identity. You can then decide what applications you want to give access to your NFT’s data. This will allow for very personalized experiences that are also private.

Now, let’s look at our experiments.

Overview of Personality NFTs AI Experiments

Here are the current experiments we are running. We have already touched on the Conversational Web. Below, we will take each of these experiments in depth.

Conversational Website

The Internet is changing fast. We are going from static content to highly dynamic and personalized content.

Now, let’s look at a website that focuses entirely on Conversational Web and dynamic content.

These numbers are truly mind-blowing.

What you can see here is that:

  1. Their traffic has exploded, with 167 million visitors.
  2. Their bounce rate is only 22%, which is absurd
  3. Their average visit duration is 33 minutes!
  4. The average person visits 11 pages!

Now, this is what their homepage looks like:

Basically, what we have is a collection of AI chatbots that users can engage with. Additionally, there is a community, feeds, and ways to create AI chatbots.

This website has become a place where people can go to hang out, create, and chat with each other and the AI bots.

I developed a number of AI agents specializing in the personality niche in response to our friends from above.

Here are the types of AI experiences I have created:

  1. Tests and Quizzes: Conversational AI Test
  2. Trait Talk AI: AI that can answer any question you have about Personality Theory, Frameworks, Careers, Compatibility, etc.
  3. AI Personality Tools: These tools are designed to help you get to know yourself and others better. For example, Persona Decoder AI can predict the personality of another person’s personality in your life and give you insights on how to talk with them.
  4. Entertainment: Celeb Insights, Game & TV Characters, Famous Persona’s like Einstein.
  5. Learning: Ai for each of the MBTI and Enneagram Personality Types
  6. AI Assistants: These assistants can help you discover and achieve meaningful goals. For example, we Life Coach AI, Fitness Trainer, Dating Coach AI, Psychologist AI, etc.

The majority of these AI Agents serve the purpose of teaching, entertaining, and helping the user.

Our goals for this test are to:

  1. Increase the time spent on site
  2. Increase the number of times users return
  3. Create a community on Discord that features our AI Bot

AI Sales & Marketing

One of the areas that I am very curious about is automating sales and marketing using AI.

Typically, when a new technology emerges, it is the sales and marketing people who are among the first to experiment with it and discover ways to monetize it.

There is huge value in this, as being among the first means that you get to have a disproportionate ROI, growth, and profitability. In the last chatbot hype cycle, it was marketers who were the first to validate a use case that produced value, which was using Messenger Bots as an effective sales channel.

Here are the experimental AI’s Related to Sales & Marketing:

  1. Product Genius AI: The goal of this bot is to chat with you and capture leads.
  2. Featured Section: The 4 bots below, which are in the Featured Section, are currently promotional bots. Their purpose is to chat with you and encourage your curiosity and desire to use these high-end AI Assistants. If demand is high, we will build them this year.

AI Assistants as a Service

You may be wondering about the costs of all of these. After all, running AI Agents can be expensive, and even highly engaged users might not be willing to pay for it.

To ensure that we are on the right track in terms of product-market fit, each of the bots utilizes the freemium model.

The bots are designed to interact to a certain point, capture leads, find out why users like them and ways to improve, and finally let users subscribe.

Now, we have come full circle where the Conversational Web engages, teaches, captures leads, sells, and is also the product itself!

Currently, our AI subscriptions start at ~$7/month.

AI Content Creation

Over the past 6 months, the majority of the website has been built on AI content. This includes about 500 articles, over 1 million words, and counting.

The content we are creating is based on personality taxonomies and semantics and is designed for semantic search engine networks.

Over the next few weeks and months, I will be sharing the results of our SEO efforts.

Website as a Destination

We have touched on this quite a bit. In one of our experiments, we created a ‘Secret Game’ that took the user through a set of experiences and insights.

The average session was over 5 minutes, and engagement was high. We will explore more ways to create secret games and experiences that take the user through a dynamic story.

AI, NFTs and Community

Believe it or not, only a very few people actually care about privacy. I say this because it comes up in every conversation, yet when there is an opportunity for privacy, typically people choose convenience.

To that end, to protect personality data and make it private and anonymous, users have the option of using NFTs to store their data. After you mint your Personality NFT, the NFT will be in your wallet, and our AI systems will be able to sync with it.

In this way, you own your data and can disconnect at any time. Additionally, 3rd party developers can build AI agents, games, etc. that can also sync with your NFT if you so choose! The implications of this are profound, as it will give you the ability to go into any online community that uses our technology and get matched with the right person based on mutual goals.

Metaverse/AR/VR:

Last but not least is the Metaverse. The Metaverse represents the ultimate destination where people could go to hang out.

Right now, it is so new that there is very little we can say about it. However, we have run a number of conferences and events in Decentraland and used NFTs as a way to introduce attendees to each other. I will share more about this later.

Join the Journey

Currently, we have one main project, Personality NFT, that is aligned with the mission of helping people become more self-aware.

I want to make the website an AI-first conversation website that is a destination for users. Right now, we are in the first part of the experiment and have rolled out about 70+ AI agents.

The main goal is to try to find Product-Market-Fit that leverages AI in order to help people grow. The project is one way in which we can pursue the mission. As I learn and grow, there will be future projects that I will also share with you.
