Project X and A Mindchimp meet up at Lego

Project X and A Mindchimp meet up at Lego

On Thursday last week, I had the opportunity to do two great things.

The first was to get some of the best minds in L&D in one room and look at creating something unique and quite special, aka Project X.

In the room, we had experts from various large corps, behaviour experts, personal brand experts, and great designers all focusing on creating the concept solution for the challenge we put in front of them.

The challenge isn't going to be a quick win, however, it will highlight the good people and ideas in L&D. It will highlight how all working together we can create and give something back that will be unique and something to be proud of.

Rather than kick L&D which is easy, one of the goals of this project is to shout about the positives L&D and companies can bring.

The second thing was hosting the third (and sold out) Mindchimp meet up at the awesome offices of Lego HQ in London.

I just want to say a massive thank you to the speakers Laura Pettitt, Sam Netherwood, Charlie Kneen, and Alexandra Galviz who on short notice stepped up and delivered some fascinating talks on their areas of interest.

For those who went out of their way to come and give me some feedback on the night, I want to say thank you for sharing. Over the weekend I had time to reflect on it all and it really means a lot. Whilst each piece was unique and great to hear this one stood out:

"I gave up going to corporate events and conferences a few years back and have been slightly disheartened with our industry ever since, however, what you have done here is something special and dare I say it fun to attend, please continue the stuff you are doing it is a gift"

This feedback highlights a few of the reasons as to why I do the podcasts, the meetups and the communities. It was great to hear that these things are adding value to you and your role.

I also want to say a huge thank you to Laura and Jo (Jo I know you will hate me for this)

I think our many random Skype calls back and forth really paid off with what will be created in the end, add in the very small amount of time we had to create this, push it out and the fact we have never worked with each other, to say I’m super proud of us all is an understatement and I defo couldn't have done it without you lovely folks.

So a couple more questions I will try and answer

When is phase 2 of project x and how do I get involved?

Well the next phase will be around June/July time, right now this aspect is invite only but if you are interested please click the link here

When is the next meet up?

Again this will be around June/July time as I have season 2 of the podcast to focus on next. However, if you want to maybe have a talking gig or look at how we can collaborate/sponsor the next event then please click here.

Where will the location be of next phase and meet up?

London!

Which office?

One more final shout out, that is to the attendees, yes YOU!

A community is only as good as the people in it, every single person who has come to this and previous meetups has been awesome!

So thank you for getting behind Mindchimp as a brand and a community!

Thanks

Danny
