Project Spotlight: Ecclesiastical Insurance Office at Gloucester Business Park
We are pleased to spotlight one of our Commercial projects—Plot 2000 at Gloucester Business Park. This development, expertly delivered by Arlington and pre-let to Ecclesiastical Insurance Office, exemplifies the principles of modern design, flexibility, and sustainability.
Situated on the southwestern edge of Gloucester Business Park, Plot 2000 is a three-story office building, thoughtfully designed to meet both current and future commercial needs. The building offers flexible, air-conditioned office space, constructed to the highest commercial standards, with the ability to adapt to changing occupier requirements. Each floor, or even parts of a floor, can be configured independently, ensuring the building remains functional and relevant as needs evolve

The building's strategic location near the recently extended infrastructure road ensures a strong presence within the Park. The entrance plaza serves as the main interface between the building and its surroundings, providing an impressive and high-quality landscaped environment. This design not only enhances the aesthetic appeal but also ensures safe and direct pedestrian access.
The building is positioned slightly to the north of the plot, minimising the distance to local facilities while strategically screening the car park from the entrance plaza. Additionally, its placement away from the western boundary helps reduce the visual impact on neighbouring residential areas, reflecting a careful consideration of the surrounding community.

The vision for this project was clear: to create a modern, energy-efficient building that complements the larger developments within Gloucester Business Park. This vision has been realised through a design that emphasises both durability and visual interest. The building’s exterior is clad in brick, featuring “punched hole” windows arranged in a regular horizontal pattern but with an irregular vertical layout. This thoughtful design provides ample daylight while minimizing cooling demands, striking a balance between form and function.

To add visual interest, the building incorporates asymmetric fenestration, with feature panels of filmed and coloured glass, along with meticulously detailed external fire escape stairs. This approach ensures that the building is not only practical but also visually engaging from all sides, an important consideration given its high visibility.

The success of this project is a testament to the collaborative efforts of all involved. As James Raven from Arlington aptly put it, “This looks absolutely fantastic, and compliments to the team and FSA in particular—they have excelled themselves.”
Plot 2000 at Gloucester Business Park stands as a modern, adaptable, and aesthetically pleasing addition to the Park, reflecting our ongoing commitment to delivering projects that meet the needs of today while anticipating the demands of tomorrow.
