Sunset: Automating Project Workflows for Enhanced Efficiency

Sunset is an innovative solution designed to automate project workflows by seamlessly

integrating our internal projects with leading project management tools like Jira and

ClickUp. Our approach includes the creation of projects and the automatic generation of

tasks/APIs using OpenAI, enabling teams to focus on what matters most.

Issue Faced: During a recent batch processing task for fetching time entries, we

encountered a significant hurdle: multiple API requests resulted in "Too Many Requests"

(429) errors, disrupting our automated workflows.

Root Cause: The issue stemmed from the need to manage multiple API keys while

making concurrent requests to ClickUp. As the request volume increased, some API

keys hit their rate limits, leading to failed data retrieval.

Solution: To address this, we optimized our approach by utilizing threading to enhance

our request handling capacity. Additionally, we increased the number of API tokens,

allowing us to distribute the requests more effectively and prevent rate limiting. This

solution ensured that our automated workflows remain resilient, enabling clients to

receive timely and accurate project insights without interruption.
