Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Design budgets, schedules, plans and specifications, manage project communications and documentation
- Supervise, motivate and develop staff including junior staff in project management practices
- Coordinate and review assigned projects, and those of the project team, for completeness and accuracy
- Perform technical discipline tasks including research, reports, design, specification and plan preparation to ensure the most efficient and cost-effective execution of assigned projects
- Serve as the primary client liaison to bring the schedule, budgets and scope of work to completion and to the client’s satisfaction
- Provide engineering design and supervision for a variety of highway design projects including, but not limited to: roadway reconstruction and overlay, bridge approaches, storm sewers, sidewalks, ADA ramps, guardrail, pavement marking and signing, and asset management projects
- Oversee and perform engineering designs including geometric alignments, profiles, cross sections, construction and engineering documents, and maintenance of traffic details.?
- Perform advanced MicroStation/GEOPAK processes.
- Perform internal quality control to ensure designs, plans and calculations are complete and accurate through all phases of design and plan production.
- Assist Senior Project Managers in a variety of project administrative duties.
- Participate in business development activities, assisting in the creation of letters of response and technical proposals/presentations
- Serve as technical expert on task/project on key transportation projects.
- Deliver quality transportation projects on-time, within budget and to the satisfaction of the client for projects assigned as Project Manager.
Education and/or Experience
- A bachelor of science degree in civil engineering or civil and environmental engineering
- 10 years of experience serving clients on a wide variety of transportation projects, including INDOT
