Project life cycle for a GHG Emission Estimation & Reporting

Project life cycle for a GHG Emission Estimation & Reporting

“Planning is comparatively Easier than is Implementation!”

For any GHG project/program emphasis is given on 2 key phrases:

a. Planning Phase

b. Implementation phase

Each one of them goes hand-in-hand with the other to accomplish the final set of objectives.

The project cycle steps vary depending on the project’s scale and specific circumstances, including applicable legislation, methods, GHG programs, or standards.

a. Planning Phase:

To specify requirements for establishing and documenting a GHG project,

  • Describe the project.
  • identify and select GHG SSRs relevant to the project.
  • determine the baseline scenario and identifies and select GHG SSRs relevant to it.
  • develops procedures to quantify, monitor and report GHG emissions, removals, emission reductions, and removal enhancements.

Before the start of implementation, GHG programs will require official registration, validation, and public distribution of a GHG project plan.

b. Implementation Phase:

Specifies requirements for selecting and applying criteria & procedures for,

  • regular data quality management;
  • monitoring;
  • quantification and reporting of GHG emissions and removals in the project and GHG baseline;
  • quantification and reporting of GHG emission reduction and removal enhancements.

So, hope this might have made you clear in terms of what thing needs to be aligned to reach the destination.
