Project Leaderhip - I
THE BEST WAY to approach this matter is to remind yourself of your regret with that really bad project of yours, whatever it was.
Something as minor as an unpleasant trip or a huge one with much more energy and heart involved.
Remember the headaches you had, the time you spent and even the money you lost and how many times you repeated it to yourself:
?- Why did I get into this mess?
- I would give anything to get out of it!
- Never again... never again...!
?Yes, it is better never to have started, but why do we start a bad project?
I see at least 3 reasons.
The first one, the more than obvious one, we didn't know it would be a bad idea, and in this case, there is a lesson to be learned: what didn't I see before I started?
In the other two cases, it is more difficult to accept our mistake.
In the first, we ignore our intuition, like: yeah, I don't think this thing is going to work out, but let's go for it!
The third, even more serious, is to insist and keep digging, hoping that the hole will get smaller, and.... and guess what?!... it only gets bigger.
It is to let yourself get carried away by the feeling of frustration and to seek compensation for the time lost, for the initial efforts, and to be taken by the unreasonable appeal that you will be able to recover everything you have already invested.
This is a big mistake.
Bad project? Don't insist. Whenever possible, finish it before you start.
