Project Icon Challenge – Revisited

Solving Business Problems with Technology
As some of you may recall, seven months ago the Office 365 team announced new icons for Office 365 which also included SharePoint, Teams and even Skype, but not Project. I decided to post a challenge to redesign the icon to fall in step with the new modern look of the others. I even added my own icons from my limited artistic creativity.
The post received 9,419 views and 51 comments to date, but it wasn’t enough to motivate change.
Today when I saw that Microsoft Planner received their new icon, but still nothing for Project, I thought I would try a different approach… Why not use UserVoice?
For those not familiar with UserVoice, it is a feedback cloud service that helps clients (in this case Microsoft) listen to customers and focus product development efforts on features that matter. If product ideas receive enough votes, they will implement the idea. Simple enough.
So, I submitted an idea on UserVoice to update the Project icon and you can view and vote from here:
I believe updating the Project icon to the new modern look that aligns with the rest would send a positive message to the community that they matter and that Project is still moving forward with the rest of the O365 family and become not stuck in some forgotten junk pile.
The sample of new Project icons (shown below) are what I have submitted for consideration. Please take a moment and click on the image below to vote and also comment to which icon you would like to see going forward.
This is such a simple and easy fix and shows Microsoft Project customers that you care.
