Project Frozen: the power of 3D visualization and word-of-mouth
What works best when seeking an individual with such specific knowledge and skills that not just anyone can be pulled off the street and offered a position, especially within the realm of international collaboration? The word-of-mouth tuned to the frequencies of trusted connections.
What works best when a friend (coincidentally, also that top-notch specialist) tightly connected with another, needs assistance despite their long-distance and infrequent communication? The word-of-mouth tuned to the frequencies of trusted connections.
What works best when searching for a trusted 3D visualization studio to take on a project and deliver a high-quality home project in a new location? I suspect you know the answer to this question, but perhaps you're still catching on to how its rhetorical nature ties into Studio57. Let's discuss!
Background that became the source of a new client
The starting point in the story of our collaboration with David Wilson was his career and friendship with his long-time friend Jackson Bennett.
They had known each other since childhood playing "war games" and climbing trees exploring the nature of the Lake District's outskirts. Even schooling and early attempts at part-time jobs couldn't undermine the trust they had built over the years.
Our team created custom project renders for Bennett, which became a convincing argument to start the construction of a single-story villa
The friends knew they wanted to dedicate their lives to environmental protection together, so as they grew older they joined the Lake District park located near their village. For a long time, they worked together as rangers managing and protecting natural resources while ensuring the safety of visitors. The beauty of the hills, the serenity of the lakes and the density of the forests in their homeland always reminded them of their noble mission, which required endurance.
During their time in the Lake District, they faced many challenges (like rescuing tourists during a storm), but their friendship extended beyond their duties. They celebrated each other's small victories, shared happy moments just as eagerly as they supported each other in difficult times. For instance, after Jackson's wedding David helped him build a house from scratch.
Wilson reached out to his childhood friend, who recommended our studio as the first step toward realizing his dream
Spoiler: this is where we as a 3D visualization studio played a significant role. Our team created custom project renders for Bennett, which became a convincing argument to start the construction of a single-story villa. This event later became pivotal for David, who had to move to Banff after accepting an offer to work in the local national park.
Word-of-mouth: how our studio was recommended for a project in Canada
After arriving David needed to settle in and find accommodation. Initially, he stayed in a hostel before attempting to rent an apartment. Endless wandering and uncertainty about the future led him to consider building his own home. Unsure of its feasibility, a brilliant idea struck him not long after. Wilson reached out to his childhood friend, who recommended our studio as the first step toward realizing his dream.

This casual yet pivotal introduction highlights the advantage of word-of-mouth. Indeed, it operates seamlessly considering factors like the final quality of service delivered to clients. Drawing on his longtime friend's experience, David simply needed to find a 3D visualization studio in Canada (perhaps even in Banff itself) to meet his needs. However, the persuasive power of the glowing reviews about Studio57, once showered upon him by Jackson, significantly influenced our hero's choice. Thus the 3D artists began delving into the details and possibilities for their next project – a realization of a solitary "lair" amidst harsh snow-covered rocky mountains where even a 3D model of a car (much like Wilson's own) became a work of art in its own right.
Harsh yet gentle: designing the house visualizations
We began outlining the exterior of the house drawing on David's genuine love for nature a passion he's had since childhood. This made it easy for us to reflect his lifestyle through our renderings creating an atmosphere of respect for the surroundings. A more labor-intensive task was the separate design of the car, which became part of the extension (a garage with a carport) of the single-story house.
The building executed in a modern style stands out significantly from what tourists (and even Banff residents) are accustomed to seeing in the town or its outskirts. We championed the flat roof with its parallel lines giving the structure a grounded and sturdy appearance. Replacing the sharp, elongated wooden shingle roofs that merge their peaks with the coniferous forest tops we opted for composite materials made from bitumen and cellulose. And what captivates the eye the most is the house's dark palette, which seamlessly blends with the natural shades of a “dull” winter evening. We did manage to brighten some of the renders by simulating the northern lights, a phenomenon more frequent in this area than sunshine in London throughout the year. This natural light technically realized by our 3D artists added an enchanting touch. By the way, lighting plays a crucial role in creating the cozy interior, which in contrast to the exterior appears much “warmer.” Can you guess why? Of course, it's the panoramic windows all around!
The priorities of the client should be the driving force for any company
Despite the house occupying 150 square meters, its layout includes a spacious kitchen-living room, a bedroom and a luxurious bathroom combined with a toilet. The relaxation area features graphite cabinets “hidden” in the walls serving as storage spaces. Similarly, the kitchen has built-in appliances in sleek units maintaining the harmony of the open space. The highlight of this room is a suspended fireplace, which complements the adjacent decorative brick wall evoking nostalgic feelings.
Another remarkable detail of the project is the bonsai enclosed by glass partitions on all sides. Its habitat serves as a connecting link between the two “blocks” of the living space and the outside world. Access to the spacious terrace illuminated by spotlights is also provided from both sides.
A fresh perspective on old real estate laws
The monumental exterior, the warm-toned and unpretentious interior and the natural aesthetic make this project truly unique. Besides satisfying David, who was impressed with the renderings from the start, these 3D visualizations for real estate are becoming a compelling tool in the international market. Why? Their realism breathes new life into the field, where architectural quality and functional layouts are reinterpreted in terms of their significance. In this context, the priorities of the client meticulously considered down to the last detail should be the driving force for any company. After all, it is ultimately up to the client to decide which 3D visualization studio to recommend to their friends!
