The Project:

first complete kayak descent from Everest Base Camp till the Ocean.

First kayak descent from the Everest base camp (5500 m) till Calcutta (Indian Ocean). From Kathmandu we will fly to Lukla. From here, to reach the Everest base camp, a 7 days trekking will follow. The first part, about 300 km, will be run with creek kayak; the remaining 900 km will be affronted in a sea kayak.

2016 will be the 30th anniversary of the first kayak expedition on the Everest river. A big English group of 6 people, guided by Mike Jones tried to run the Dudh Kosi. They managed to paddle some of the rapids and Leo Dickinson produced an extraordinary documentary about this expedition. Only few other paddler tried to paddle these sections and until now nobody made a full descent from source to sea!

In the heart of the Himalayas. 4 world-class paddlers embark on a 2 month long self-supported kayaking adventure. In this spectaculary harsh world of snow, rock and water, they're faced with a myriad of challenges. Surviving and supporting one another proves harder than expected.
