Project engagement with tools
How to deploy tools for enterprise project collaboration into the live operation? Once you have selected the tool that is appropriate for you, what supposed to be the right way? First thing is to help the organization understand what is meant by to use it. If you just implement these tools and expect people will understand what the boundaries are and how to use it – it is not going to work. If you are looking to increase project collaboration – you need to define purpose and communicate it to the team.
If employees do not understand the purpose, the adoption rate could be slow. Organic reaction of people is important in the tool adoption – it is important to allow not purely work oriented communication to increase the knowledge and to create some expectation levels for people before it could be put into productive use. After people will see that the purpose of the tool is reach, e.g. with increasing level of collaboration – the adoption rate will be higher and the usage rating bigger.
Socially networked communications are rapidly taking over as a more effective way of exchanging information in the modern world. Your project tools must be able to manage the exchange of ideas. Right collaboration toll incorporates networks that are open and transparent by nature, they help unlock the tacit knowledge of employees and create shared intent. This accelerates innovation, responsiveness, problem solving and learning. People feel more productive and information flows faster and is more likely to reach the right people through networks than through hierarchical and point to point communication structures.
What is strengthening the organisational hierarchy using project collaboration tools? This change in communication tools is putting massive stress on existing hierarchical organizational structures. Built to control information flow, they suddenly need to accommodate networks that are more open and transparent, and assume that decisions are made at the edges.
