The project comes to India
Diabetes is a significant health problem not only in India but also across other countries in the Global South. At present, people with diabetes in developing countries like India inject insulin via subcutaneous insulin injections, insulin pumps or pens. Frequent injections using these methods are inconvenient to patients, who gradually become reluctant to treat the disease. However, it could change soon.
Ideas which drive progress
We collaborated with the research team from at SSN College of Engineering in Chennai to improve ways of diabetes management. This cross-border partnership allowed to develop a new tool for continuous glucose detection. The project notably progressed during the past year and the first milestones were reached. However, there is still a long road to follow.
I want to thank our collaborators from the Department of Electronic and Communication at SSN College of Engineering for the excellent work they did. The talented team of Dr B.S. Sreeja supported the development of the device through all its stages. As well as, I thank Akash, who fount the way how to visualise the numbers into sensible graphs. It was a great pleasure to work with you. Thanks to you we brought our idea closer to reality!
