Project Card: What makes Britain great?

Project Card: What makes Britain great?

Rowan Eggar Leah Coombs and Emily Bacon NPQLBC

What makes Britain great was one of Gesher's second projects and it was a great success. It ran alongside the Queen's Platinum Jubilee Celebrations last year.

Years 4&5 explored life in Great Britain and the differences between the four countries by using our leading question, 'What makes Britain great?' We explored popular cuisines and landscapes across Great Britain and made newspaper articles to reflect our knowledge.

As a school for children who are differently able and who learn differently, this project showcases the richness of PBL and how it can deliver an authentic and meaningful learning experience for students. At Gesher, teachers, therapists, and the life skills team co-design projects to provide a whole-child approach to learning. In this project, the therapy team focused on supporting students with sensory eating difficulties, while the life skills team helped students to access public transport.?
