In profile - Lisa Kruse

Lisa Kruse decided to come and work with us 5 years ago, after being offered the chance to join our team on more than one occasion.

"It was a tough decision at the time to leave a job I really enjoyed but having past exposure to RACT I respected the way they did business and just as importantly, where they were headed in the future. The values, people, growth and opportunity were a great fit for my personality, goals and values, and?the rest as they say is history!"

Lisa currently project manages our Claims Monitoring & Supervision Framework. No two days are the same, but this is something she really thrives on.

"One day I'll?be analysing our processes, developing improvement opportunities and?creating video tutorials, the next I may be working on our Large Event Plan. If there's an actual event, then I'll be wherever the business needs me to make sure we're keeping our promise to our members."

While she's only been here for 5 years, Lisa has had the opportunity to work in a number of different roles and business units.

"I’ve lucky?to have experienced so many different aspects and areas of the business in my short time here, from leading the Innovation Team, supervising the Claims Contact Centre, recreating the Claims Business Contingency Plan, representing the business within the Small Claims Court... and that’s just naming a few things off a long list."

Lisa loves the team spirit here and how we all pull together in times of need to make sure we're doing the best for our members.

"If there's a catastrophe, be it?a weather event, fire, or?anything of a large magnitude, it’s all hands on deck to make sure our members experience the best service when it really matters."

Lisa has been working in insurance for over 25 years, starting off as a switchboard operator and working her way through most areas of the industry including workers compensation, claims, sales, underwriting, disputes, recoveries and settlements and customer relations.

"I actually worked in Insurance before we were all connected to the Internet. We used paper files and you could fill your car up for $20!"

Outside of work, Lisa is intrigued by the astounding beauty of nature.

"During my “me” time you'll find me outside with my two Golden Retrievers by my side propagating plants, hiking, fishing, or if it's too cold outside I'll be inside by the fire with a good book learning something new."

Lisa also spends a lot of time within advocacy and mentoring roles.

"Supporting the vulnerable or those without a voice is something I'm deeply passionate about and believe we all have a responsibility to give back if we're lucky enough to have something to give."

Lisa's hidden talent is being able to identify?the positives?in each and every setback, treating them as an opportunity for growth.

"If we're not growing then what are we doing?"
