?????? ?????????????? (?????????????? & ?????????? Professionals) ?????????? ?????? ??????

Yesterday I attended a gathering organized for the guidance of Job seekers (Accounts & Audit professionals) in UAE by Naffar Hussain ACA,APFA , at Mamzar Beach Park at a BBQ party. The majority of the attendees were our acquittance about the CA fraternity.

Here I like to appraise Naffar Hussain & his team as doing a tremendous task for the community.

Here are Some Tips for Job Seekers (takeaway from yesterday's gathering):

Planning to come to UAE:

  • You can start exploring Job Websites like Bayt, Gulf Talent, Dubizzle, Monster & Nukari to know your expected salary package.
  • Find professional connections in UAE & talk with them to know the job market situation in UAE, Visa, and accommodation issues.
  • Plan your trip before landing in UAE, especially budgeting your expenses incurred during your stay in UAE for the Job hunt.
  • You can get your relevant Degrees or certificates attested by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs & UAE Embassy.
  • Update or create your account on LinkedIn and other social media platforms and connect with professionals in UAE.
  • Please make/ update your CV professionally & concisely, and elaborate on your area of expertise, as UAE employers are looking for specific experience, skills & qualifications. Likewise, if your significant experience is in Real Estate of FMGC, highlight & mention that.
  • Update your professional skills, e.g., IFRSs, Accounting Cycle for specific businesses, and General Entries for particular transactions related to your area of expertise.
  • Learn about Local Laws & Regulations, i.e., VAT, Corporate TAX, ESR, UBO, AML, Company & Labour Laws.
  • Buy formal dresses & preferably own a laptop to carry with you.
  • ?Practice for Job Interviews & if required, and improve your English communication skills as this is the only proper business communication in UAE.

?Once in UAE for Job Hunt, remember the following:

  • Obey the local laws & regulations and do not overstay or violate the law.
  • ?Most of the Job openings are in Dubai as compared to other Emirates
  • Find a suitable place to stay according to your budget, preferably near the Metro station, so it will be cheaper & easier to commute.
  • Try to attend social or professional events happening at that time in the city.
  • Find your friends & colleagues already in UAE & mingle with them.
  • Start your day early & get dressed up to be ready for any interview call.
  • Preferably use a laptop for searching job & sending a CV.
  • You can customize yours as much as you can according to the Job requirement.
  • Mention only relevant Skills, Education & Experience in your CV.
  • Change your WhatsApp to UAE Number.
  • Update your location on the social media platform.
  • Spend time on social media platforms like LinkedIn or professional WhatsApp groups

Preparing for the Interview:

  • Once called for an interview from any company, explore that company through its website, social media, or friends.
  • Learn about that company's business activities & accounting cycle.
  • Check which IFRS or other accounting standards apply to that business or industry.
  • Check again for common applicable Local Laws & Regulations, likewise VAT, Corporate TAX, AML, ERS, or UBO.
  • Dress appropriately for the interview.
  • Practice answering expected questions at the interview with a friend or in front of a mirror.
  • Try to reach out before the time of the interview.
  • Once asked, convey your salary demand clearly, and do not accept any offer below your expected expenses.

These tips may help Job Seekers to secure jobs efficiently & timely in UAE. Wishing you all best of luck.
