Professional Development

Having a growth mindset

A growth mindset is a belief that our abilities can be developed through persistence and hard work. Professionals with a growth mindset can improve their talent, skill sets, and even relationships through continued dedication and overcoming preconceived limitations.

This is the polar opposite of a fixed mindset, which is the belief that our abilities are static and limited by genetics or circumstances. Though there’s nothing wrong with this mindset, it’s hard to reap the rewards of professional development with a fixed mindset because of hesitations when confronting obstacles.

A growth mindset can help you succeed in many areas of life, especially in your career. Having a growth mindset allows you to continually improve yourself and achieve goals that may have seemed impossible before.

Make a growth mindset work for you with advice from this quick read.
