At 3E, professional development is not just a priority—it’s a fundamental part of our company culture. In 2024, we approached our Professional Development season with intentionality, vision, and a commitment to creating programs that resonate with every 3E Difference Maker, regardless of their role.?

Nicole Focareto and I collaborated to define key themes, identify potential speakers, and add a fresh spin to our standard Lunch and Learn events during Q1. By Q2, we had officially launched the 3E Professional Development Series.?

Our main objectives for the series were:?

Ensure tangible takeaways for all Difference Makers:?In every session, we asked, “So what? Why does this matter?” This encouraged everyone to reflect on what they learned and how it applies to their work at 3E.?

Whether it’s a skill, quote, or concept, we ensured each participant walked away with something practical.?

Create a Professional Development Resource Center: We upload presentations, documents, and links to additional resources on our intranet, The Hub, so employees can revisit the materials at any time.?

3E’s in-house experts, along with industry leaders, share their knowledge in a way that’s accessible to all employees.?

We also prioritized diverse voices by inviting a range of presenters from both inside and outside of 3E. We intentionally considered who could best deliver the subject matter when selecting topics. This has provided a platform for many of our Difference Makers, even those who don’t regularly have the chance to speak to the entire organization. It’s special to showcase the unique perspectives everyone brings—regardless of title—because every voice matters.?

How’s the Year Going??

Now that we’ve entered Q4, we’re happy to report that the series is going great! Although scheduling sessions that fit our daily priorities and workloads can sometimes be challenging, attendance has been consistently strong.?

Our most impactful initiative so far has been the 3E Watch Parties. These events unite our teams to watch videos featuring respected leaders on specific topics. Afterward, we dive into discussions using prepared questions to explore how to integrate what we’ve learned into our work at 3E and brainstorm new ideas.?

But that’s not all—our in-house experts have also delivered fantastic presentations that spark engaging conversations, fresh insights, and actionable lessons for our Difference Makers to apply in their daily roles.?

More Than Professional Development?

The 3E Professional Development Series goes beyond learning new skills. It fosters genuine connections. These sessions often lead to moments of recognition and compliments as team members acknowledge each other’s talents, gifts, and expertise. This isn’t just professional development—it’s an important part of our culture. It strengthens our trust and reliance on each other to achieve great things as a team.
