Products = Money. Systems = Fortunes

Products = Money. Systems = Fortunes

There has never been a time in the history of the world when it has been easier to start a business. The internet lets you reach anyone in the world who is looking for you.

It's not that hard to start earning money for yourself. You can:

  • Sell a physical product
  • Sell a service
  • Sell education

People are making far more money than you are with far less education than you have. But you can change all of that. You have the power to earn money for yourself by bringing something to the world that either didn't exist, or you have an improved method to what already exists out there.

What I'm excited to teach is the principle behind those who go from making money to making fortunes.

Anyone can start a business and earn money. You certainly can.

But newsletter subscribers aren't the average person who just wants to make a quick buck to cover the bills. YOU want to make an impact and make a fortune, am I right?

So you must think like fortune builders.

As you saw in the title: Products = Money. Systems = Fortunes

Those who make fortunes are those who build systems.

You can certainly earn a lot of money selling products or services, yet your earnings will always be tied to the number of transactions happening. This is a huge step up from being a W2 worker and only earning by the number of hours you can work in a day.

You want more than that though, huh? You want to spend your precious time building an empire that is self-sustaining. To do that, you've got to do what few entrepreneurs can: build beautiful, self-sustaining systems.

Systems are scalable. Systems are replicable. Systems allow you to not be the bottleneck of your company anymore. With a system, you really can build a fortune.

Most of you newsletter subscribers in healthcare. We aren't taught how to be entrepreneurs or how to make money ourselves. Most of us think just earning enough to replace our existing W2 salary would be a dream come true. However, if you are going to go to the work to build a business I want you to think bigger than that. I want you to start with a bigger, brighter end in mind. When you think big, and long-term you can better start building a system from the beginning. Otherwise, you risk limiting your growth ultimately because you didn't build it with a system in mind from the beginning.

Now, don't feel overwhelmed at the idea of building complex systems from the beginning. Just start where you are. Here are a few ideas for how to practically do this in the world today:

  1. Consider how every task you do can be automated, delegated or eliminated over time. Start making a plan to make that happen from the very beginning
  2. Create an SOP (standard operating procedure) for yourself and all of your many tasks. Then, when you are ready to automate or delegate you are crystal clear on how this is to be done and it can be passed off to someone clearly and easily.
  3. Stick to your script. The more you can standardize what you do the more easily you'll be able to scale. If you are making concessions for every person you work with you'll feel scrambled and busy meeting many one-off obligations.
  4. Learn from people a few steps ahead. What are their systems? Adopt them to a T and stick to them religiously. Find what works, then make tweaks to make it even better.
  5. Stick to your niche. Don't go chase every opportunity out there and spread yourself too thin. Stick to one niche and go all-in rather than trying to do everything for everyone. You lose momentum the more you try to accomplish. Go an inch-wide and a mile deep rather than a mile-wide and an inch deep.
  6. Do the hard work of building systems that work. Don't outsource your problems. Do the hard work of figuring out what works for your company, and what doesn't. Nobody will care about your business like you do. Once you know the problem and how to fix it outsourcing is a great solution...but beware of outsourcing a problem entirely.

Products and money are great things! Go create those products and services for the world.

But, don't stop there. You are the best of the best in the world (I hope you realize that) and when you start thinking big and acting big, and thinking long-term you'll build systems and processes that will reap fortunes for you.
