Products I Love - Mbuzi24.com Meat Delivery Service

Disclaimer (as usual): Just wanted to quickly clarify something. I may talk a lot about different products, services, and experiences, but I want to make it clear that I'm not an influencer (at least not yet!). I'm just a regular person who loves sharing their thoughts and opinions about the things that interest me.

So if you ever see me raving about something, it's not because I'm getting paid to do so. It's just because I genuinely enjoy discussing things and want to share my enthusiasm with others. I use service and product interchangeably when talking about apps (web and mobile) because we access services through products built for the web.

So, I've made a decision. I'm tired of keeping all my favorite products and services to myself. There are just too many amazing things out there that I think everyone should know about! That's why I'm starting a series of articles where I'll be sharing my absolute favorite finds with all of you. I can't wait to geek out with you over all the products & services I love. Let's get started!

Get ready to meet your new go-to for quality fresh meat delivery: Mbuzi24.com. From farm to table, they're all about delivering fresh, delicious meat straight to your door. I got to know about this service through my brother who would tell anyone who would listen about this affordable meat delivery service he uses to buy meat for his household. One day I was hosting carnivores (those who love plenty of meat in their food) and I decided to give them a try (risky move trying a new service for the first time when hosting but it paid off) and I was hooked.

order a whole mbuzi on their website

For a customer to refer your product to others when they're getting nothing in return - no commission or discount on next purchase - then you're doing something right. My parents are old school & believe in physically choosing the cuts of meat they want to buy, but guess where they buy meat from nowadays - Mbuzi24 and they're quite happy. They in turn have told their friends about the site and can someone say customer validation! The best marketing is a referral from a happy customer.

How to access the product: eCommerce website accessed on mbuzi24.com

What I love about the product:

  • the website is simple and dummy proof. When we say that a website or an app is dummy proof, it's just a (non-insulting) fancy way of saying that it is extremely user-friendly and easy to navigate, even for someone with little to no experience. Mbuzi24.com has been designed with simplicity and clarity in mind, making it accessible and intuitive for all users
  • affordable meat - these guys have some of the most affordable steak in the market!
  • Wide variety of meat products to choose - you have a choice of beef, lamb/mutton, poultry, rabbit, goat meat. You can even buy a whole goat - slaughtered or live. What is most appealing to me is that I can order a whole mbuzi without the hassle of going to Kiamaiko, Ndoyo, Njiru or Bama markets!
  • Free delivery within Nairobi and Syokimau - who doesn't love free delivery?
  • Delivery time options - You get to pick when you want the meat to be delivered to you. They don't offer same day delivery but I really don't have a problem with that
  • Discounts offered on select products every so often - not only do they provide the opportunity to save money, but they also make us feel like we're getting a good deal or taking advantage of a special offer which is a powerful motivator for many people.
  • Payment options - they offer two payment options, on order and payment on delivery option. You choose how you want to pay. Payments are made via mobile money.
  • Transparency - they share a list of the suppliers that they source their meat from. Transparency is key in building trust with customers, and listing the suppliers of their meat shows their commitment to quality sourcing. This level of transparency helps build credibility and loyalty with consumers.

What can be improved about the product:

Just one little thing, and this is as a result of being spoiled by the butcheries in the estates and supermarkets..

  • You have to cut the meat delivered before preparing it since they don't offer meat cutting as an after-sales-service. To be fair though, they introduced beef cubes in March 2023.

As a product girl, I view products through a dual lens - as a customer and as a Product Manager. This perspective helps me to evaluate products from multiple angles and take away strategy and insights that influence the product's success or failure.

My Product Perspective

This website could be an MVP or a final product but whatever it is, it works! I genuinely believe that these guys have achieved Product Market Fit and the only way for them is up!

They have a very deliberate strategy that has allowed them to pass on the savings to their customers

  1. They advertise primarily on social media - specifically Facebook & Instagram
  2. They don't have a physical shop which keeps their overheads low

Competitor Analysis

Their competitors are many - butcheries in the estate & supermarkets, Bama, Kiamaiko, Ndonyo, City market.

The competitive advantage that Mbuzi24.com offers over it's competitors is time and money savings. Their target customers of will gladly pay extra to avoid the hassle and time spent visiting the markets named above and take advantage of the friendly-pricing and discounts.

Conclusion

In conclusion, I hope that Mbuzi24.com will continue to deliver affordable mouth-watering meat for a long time. With their commitment to quality and convenience, I have no doubt that they'll be around for generations to come. So, here's to happy taste buds and a long, delicious future for our favorite meat delivery service!

Go ahead and give them a try and share your experience with us!
