Conor Lynch
As a Career Designer, I help people design new personal brands, career plans, and income streams. My new book 'Multi-Me - The Career Multiplier Effect' out soon.
It's the hardest thing I've ever done. Without a doubt.
Getting all my ideas down on paper coherently is not easy, even for an experienced communicator and educator.
I was told a book is a great way to own and protect your ideas. But my ideas were very conceptual and unclear and who would want to nick them? It's something to do with modernising career plans I said. Ok, a mentor said 'It's a worthwhile endeavour', he also wondered what 'it' was.
As I wrote my 'Career Design' book called Multi-Me, to get inspiration and clarity, I studied many other books, workbooks, playbooks, and design workshop guides. I learned about many popular blueprints, canvases, models, tools, frameworks, systems, and so on.
Hmmm, I see a pattern here. Lots of patterns. I guess I was creating a career planning model but was unaware of what to?do with?it. Make a one-page canvas? Write a book, release a course?? A career game?
I created some marketing models before but didn't popularise them enough, before moving?on to the next idea. I didn't know then what I know now, What you will know soon.
A Framework for Frameworks
I didn't know there was a process for?frameworks until recently when I discovered I was actually on track.?One video led to another and eventually,?I hit gold. Russell Brunson. The 'King of Frameworks'. He even has a 'Framework for Frameworks' FFS! Watch him explain it here.
Instead of keeping up with the latest Netflix releases, I've nerded out and watched a lot of videos about the book 'Expert Secrets' by Russell Brunson - it is perfect for anyone interested in information products. Like books, eBooks, courses, checklists, planners, templates, apps, etc.?
A framework, or model, can be as small as a three-step process. Do this, then this, and this for this result. Brunson has another very popular framework called 'Hook. Story. Offer' for online sales activities. Well worth checking out too here.
Design Thinking Frameworks
Recently in a newsletter, I talked about?how 'Design Thinking?+ Careers = Career Design'.
I referenced a popular?Design Thinking framework?which is?IDEO's Desirability, Viability, Feasibility (DVF) framework.?You can see it below again.
"By using Design Thinking in personal planning, I set out to use a proven process to achieve career goals. With this in mind, the?Multi-Me Model is created to fit within IDEO's Desirability, Viability, Feasibility (DVF) framework". This is a great framework for evaluating ideas and I incorporated it into mine".
Introducing?the Multi-Me Model Framework?
Here I will go a step deeper into the Multi-Me Model, which includes the Multi-Me Map. Several new frameworks all in one. It works for me, it works for clients, I know it can work for you.? I will explain this more soon or you can get the Multi-Me eBook soon, while the print book will be ready soon.
Here is a preview of my new Career Design framework from Multi-Me.
What about you?
It got me thinking, that more people should create and promote their own frameworks. Even if you have a job, frame / reframe your ideas in frameworks. Brand them, design them and share them widely as it can build your reputation.?
This applies?to anyone, employed or self-employed.? Have you any expertise you can mold into a framework? If not, can you create one, or can you collaborate on one? The benefits can be summarised as follows:?
Influence - Raise your profile by associating yourself with a?useful framework?shared with your peers.
Impact - By using proven techniques, you're more likely to?see positive and worthwhile outcomes and results for your work.?
Income - Turn your framework?into nice content, or an Information Product and sell it online for passive income, or use the experience to advance your career with higher earnings.?
Are you one of the 99%?
You know, the 99% of people don't have an active long-term career plan.? If you are, and you would like to explore why you should have one, and how to get one, get in touch.
For example, have you considered productising some of your knowledge?

Song of the Week?
Last week I introduced a relevant?Song of the Week and I want to do it again this week. I am a huge music fan with a wide range of tastes. Here is an old classic from The Frames?(get it?).? The Frames are an influential Irish rock band based in Dublin, founded in 1990 by Glen Hansard.
This is one of their?songs I had on my homemade CD mixes years ago. I'd like you to enjoy it with my newsletter.
Drumroll. The Frames - Revelate.
