We have a career opportunity for a Production Manager for our client’s Operations Department. The successful candidate will implement and maintain integration and co-operation of all aspects within the operation of the company to ensure effective and efficient production, optimising yields and minimising waste.

Position details:

Type: Permanent

Reports to: Operations Manager

Job description / core competencies:

• Plan and operate an efficient production of all products.
• Minimise waste products.
• Continuously improve and implement new systems and process technologies.
• Oversee maximum product traceability.
• Oversee maintenance and housekeeping of production areas.
• Effective people management.
• Setting up production capital, operating and maintenance budgets.
• Involved in the design, layout and setting up of new production lines.
• Health and safety custodian.

Location: Somerset West, Cape Town

Job Qualifications, Skills & Experience:

• Management and/or Food Technology Qualification (Not negotiable)
• 5 - 8 years Management Experience
• 5 - 8 Years Production Experience
• Sage X3 (Advantageous)
• Sound knowledge of production processes
• Experience in lean manufacturing
• Excellent problem solving and Analytical skills
• Leadership and Management Skills
• Ability to relate at all levels
• Honest, ethical with high performance standards
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Self Starter
• Attention to detail
