Product Design Evolution

Product Design Evolution

Have been wanting to write on this since Long..

I come from Electronics Multimedia Background & Started working on Diodes, capacitors, Multimeters before Microprocessor Chip codings & Software Development Cycles.

So it feels Natural to be able to think about the functioning of a wholistic design for my Product from the WHAT problem it solves, Who, Why, When to be able to identify those changes to be captured into the functioning better.

Early to Mid- School - Making Handicraft Models of wall hangings, Paintings, Greeting Cards, Gifts, Handicraft Games. Sports, Art Decorative yet functional : I remember making Game Boards, Online Cards, Web Pages Design & Developments

High School : HTML Page Development with Basics of CSS, Java, C, C++ implemented to launch simple skeleton Websites.

Implemented Matlab, Statista for visualising differential equations plotted across graphs, Charts to see their effect in 2D,3D.

Digital Basics using Basic, Binary, Hexa, Octa coding logics.

B.Tech - Loads of PCB models from a simple bulb/lamp, electrical water pulley, Digital LED signs logically coded, Microprocessor based simple robots to walk, Traffic Light Signal, Earthquake detector, Optical Sensitive Smart Lights.

Also doing courses in Entrepreneurship, Behavioural Sciences, Designing [NID], Multimedia were helpful to understand Psychology of Societies, Key Users.

Most important aspect for me i recall was knowledge of how machines, industrial designing, history of engineering & tech has evolved from telegraph, radio days to teleporting nowadays.

MBA + Internships - More of Papers, Presentations, Kiosks Yes but not really ready to roll out models unfortunately. Lots of competition models & yes I got to do Frequency Planning, build on a Health Equipment for Operation Theatre Fogging.

Plus doing courses in Market Research, Anthropology, History were helpful for me to find an understanding of how Cognitive choices have evolved over the ages.

I would always highly recommend a balance of technical/logical/hard-code studies with Liberal Arts Understanding of how society functions. This leads to a healthy learning & exposure.

Early Work Life - I remember making a few civil engineering models for sure in the early part, then into telecom - Dish Antennas, Silicon Chip Making.

DTH Antennas
Microprocessor, Microship Programming

3-10+ Years work experience became more about the Frontend design & System Design Involvement. Honestly this is where I felt the full fledged impact of Design Thinking & its solutions. Mostly in E-commerce & Online Payments Ecosystem - API Gateways, Simple CRM, Content management, Offer management, SaaS SDK implementations.

A general process for IMA for mktplace, payments
UI UX Enhancements
Making Modular - > Microservice Architecture

Simple data science model for any Logic Algorithm
How Data Science Algorithm for Retail Online Operations work

11-14 Almost Now Years has become more about Data Science, Cloud SaaS Native solutions Architectures involving LLM Models, ML Ops, GenAI to solve customer problems which am still trying to master.

Making your System advanced to understand AI algorithms

Also add doing projects in Gaming + AR/VR/MR

Doing multiple projects as part of my Zingography helps me partner with multiple players, organizations, teams to work on new upcoming topics.
