Product 36: Bow Tie - Butterfly Knot

The bow tie originated in the 17th century among Croatian mercenaries during the Thirty Years' War. They used scarves to secure shirt collars around their necks. This method gradually gained popularity among the upper echelons of French society, where France led the fashion industry. Bow ties were particularly prevalent in the 18th and 19th centuries. Renowned French writer Honoré de Balzac even wrote a book about bow ties.

By the late 19th century, bow ties' ends became longer, evolving into neckties, and bow ties fell out of fashion except within the architectural community, where they remained part of architects' uniforms.

Though neckties are more common in modern society, bow ties are regaining attention, worn at business meetings, formal events, and even casually at home. They are associated with tuxedos and considered the only legitimate neckwear for such attire.

While traditionally black, bow ties are now seen in various colors and are sometimes considered symbolic in popular culture, appearing in novels and movies like James Bond. However, they are also associated with clown costumes and viewed by some as outdated or eccentric.

The highlight of this design is its three colors, showcasing craftsmanship in multicolor molding. The central hole allows for the insertion of treat sticks or cheese sticks, enticing dogs to chew. The serrated design aids in cleaning dogs' teeth, making it suitable for small to medium-sized dogs.
