The producing company of the unique Mass Spectrometry System of CPSBB inspected its' laboratory exploitation
Center of Plant Systems Biology and Biotechnology
The research we do makes use of a wide range of disciplines in biological sciences, including molecular biology, bioche
Mr. Matthias Rietdorf, Business Development Manager of Waters Corporation and Mrs. Elena Kadijska, the Manager of FOT Ltd. company- the exclusive representatives of Waters for Bulgaria- visited the scientific complex of the Center and inspected the installation and exploitation of the unique for Bulgaria and Eastern Europe, high throughput analytical mass spectrometry system. They met the scientific team engaged in the training process and both were very satisfied with the current results.
Thanks to the exceptional proficiency of Mr. Sascha Robbert , EU HRMS Support Specialist, Waters EHQ / Waters Corporation, the scientific team of CPSBB gained excellent practical knowledge and know-how on mastering the complex system properly for in-depth scientific research, analytical data and results.
Conventional mass spectrometers separate components on the basis of m/z. WATERS’ SYNAPT XS also allows separation of molecules according to their size, shape, and charge during ion mobility experiments as a function of their collisional cross section (CCS).?
Furthermore ion mobility offers an additional dimension of resolution, multiplying peak capacity and selectivity of analysis and thus the CCS measurement significantly increases the extend and confidence with which a scientist can profile complex mixtures and complex molecules, and dramatically enhances sample definition.
The MS System is available with other two additional sources:
REIMS Research System with iKnife
领英推荐
The innovative iKnife hand-held sampling device produces information-rich vapor directly from the surface of the sample, which when analyzed by a time of flight (Tof) MS, provides analysts with an accurate molecular profile in seconds.
The REIMSResearch System with iKnife Sampling removes the need for sample preparation and chromatographic separation, allowing an accurate mass MS profile to be collected in the space of just a few seconds per sample. This saves time and makes it easier thanever before to obtain detailed molecular information from a range of sample types.
Atmospheric Solids Analysis Probe (ASAP)
The ASAP is a uniquely useful tool for the rapid direct analysis of volatile and semi-volatile solid and liquid samples using atmospheric pressure ionization. The ASAP technique utilizes heated nitrogen desolvation gas to vaporize the sample and a corona discharge for ionization. It is capable of ionizing low polarity compounds not amenable to ESI, APCI, and APPI at high
sensitivity. It can also be used to analyze complex samples without the need for sample preparation or even chromatographic separation.
