Producer-Led Innovation Challenge

In this brief article, I wanted to tell you about a fun project we worked on for the Producer-Led Innovation Challenge .

"The 2021 Producer-Led Innovation Challenge seeks to inspire innovators to create software to make it faster for farmers to aggregate the complex multi-year, multi-source data sets required to participate in Carbon markets."

Below is a 5 min video that describes the challenge in Carbon Credit Markets and demos our solution. The video also references the solution diagram below, which shows how easy it could be for farmers to use Alexa to get updates. I won't repeat it here, so check it out!

Our solution is simple. Give the farmer a simple, hands-free way to use very powerful AI and event-driven technologies under-the-hood. Using a few voice commands with Alexa, the farmer receives recommendations from the AI along with real-time data displays coming from multiple carbon credit markets around the world.

What is unique about this solution is that it combines AI + BI + CI +EI ... CI is the Conversational Intelligence provided by Alexa Skills ... and EI is what I'm calling "Event Intelligence."

Event Intelligence (EI) is where the event streams from all the carbon markets get routed through AI models, which generate intelligent recommendations to the farmer via the Alexa Displays like Echo Show, FireTV, Echo Buds, Echo, or the Alexa app on mobile devices. All in real-time end-to-end! The event streams also come directly from Edge devices on the farm, which provide real-time data related to the carbon credits the farm is selling!
