PROCUREMENT PERSPECTIVES
It’s all change as far as the seasons go as the Northern Hemisphere slips into Autumn and the Southern into Spring. It’s also event season in Procurement Land, and our teams have been busy attending the CIPS Awards, Procurement and Supply Chain Live, the Retail Gazette Efficiency debate in London, Procurement Leaders, and Tomorrow's Procurement Leader in Austin. We are also looking forward to the always fantastic DPW in Amsterdam.
With all that going on, we still found the time to share our thoughts on topics as wide-ranging as sales, fashion, tech supply chains, and the CEO's perspective on Procurement and Supply.
Our Supply Chain Barometer will give you a pretty good steer. The headline stat for us is that CEOs plan to spend more time on procurement and supply chain-related topics in the next year than last. In fact, only 1% plan to dial down their focus. Why? The report showcases several key focus areas and concerns, including resilience and strategies to address, transparency and concerns about human rights, barriers to decarbonization, and a whopping 99% prioritizing strategic cost reduction with bigger and bolder ideas for the likely outcome. If there is one report to read as we slip into a new season, this is probably it.
Back in podcast land, we joined forces with Raindrop Solutions to discuss the differences and similarities between sales and procurement. Our EVP outlined how doing a stint in sales instantly made him feel like a better buyer and vice versa. Raindrop's Ward Karson talked passionately about how to successfully negotiate and reach a deal by removing the obstacles that we often put between us. Think Tank is Raindrops' 20-minute podcast series; you can find this one here.
