MSME AFRICA
Africa's leading news and resources platform for Micro,Small and Medium Enterprises
I learnt my lesson the hard way.??????
Dear entrepreneurs,
I recall a recent event I planned to attend last month. It was an EdTech festival and was scheduled to be held at the University of Ibadan. I'd been hyping it up for almost a week, but when the day arrived, I made a costly mistake. I checked the flyer to confirm the start time, but then I gave in to the temptation of "African time." Assuming the event would start late, I added a two-hour buffer. I began getting ready at 1 pm and arrived at 2 pm.
To my dismay, the event had already ended! I couldn't even cry because I got what I deserved. However, I was disappointed about missing valuable opportunities and potential connections.
Don't make the same mistake I did! For those attending the BGS series next Wednesday, note that punctuality is expected - no African time!
Here’s what I have for you this week:

Fun Facts about Entrepreneurship
Did you know that Walt Disney was fired from his first job at a newspaper for "lacking creativity"?
Yes, you read that right! Walt Disney, the legendary founder of Disney Brothers Cartoon Studio (now The Walt Disney Company), was let go from his job as an illustrator at the Kansas City Star newspaper in 1919.
Disney's entrepreneurial journey didn't end there. He went on to create:
Mickey Mouse (1928)
Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1937)
Disneyland (1955)
Today, The Walt Disney Company is a media and entertainment empire worth over $200 billion.
Moral of the story: Rejection and failure can be stepping stones to success.
