Process vs Outcome

Facilitation is bound to be impactful after all the base rule of facilitation teaches us the biggest lesson
I have often heard my mentor Mr. Ganesh Dalvi saying In facilitation “Process is more important than outcome”
Isn’t this true for our lives too?
Observing the process we undertake to complete any task throughout the day is much more important than accomplishing the task, as task once done or finished becomes the part of our past but the process, the idea behind it, the tools used, the thoughts involved help us evolve as the better version of ourselves
Talking about our goals focusing on the process we undertake to achieve our goals is of utmost importance than the goal itself.. Bifurcating our goals into small actions or processes to be done on a daily basis in the right direction will automatically lead us to achieve our goals. Hence we need to keep a check on the process or system we build to achieve our goals rather than on the result/outcome
Coming to our children, when a child does well at something how about asking him/her about the process, efforts and strategies he has used to achieve that success rather than just appreciating. This will shift his focus to the process and skills required to win/succeed rather than just the achievements and outcome, making him someone who knows the recipe of success.
