Process INDUSTRIE 4.0: The Age of Modular Production
With the Hannover fair just days away, make sure you have hall 11, booth D44 on your list of things to see!. Here you can experience the "age of modular production", the results of an extremely fruitful and close cooperation of industry associations such as ISPE, NAMUR, ProcessNet, VDMA, and ZVEI.
We will demonstrate how modular plants can be realized in the chemical and pharmaceutical industry, allowing faster response to changing market conditions and shorter time to market. One key element is the Module Type Package, or MTP, which was co-developed by automation users from the process industry (organized in NAMUR), process experts via ProcessNet for example and suppliers (organized in VDMA or ZVEI). Special requirements in the regulated pharma environment were identified and put to the challenge by colleagues from ISPE with their special interest group "Pharma 4.0 - Plug & Produce".
You will find more details on participating companies and partner as well as details where to find us and whom to contact in this press release.

6 年This is a very interesting concept and reflects a lot of the thoughts that are discussed in the industry for the last few years. Especially for those facilities that are specialized on cell & gene therapies, agility in the transformation from process design to a manufacturing configuration is absolute key. These cell orchestration platforms require fast and flexible adaptation to constant process improvements and therapy related adaptations. The modularity of such a concept requires standardized and secure connectivity and interoperability.? I would like to meet you in Hannover and discuss more about this. Unfortunately, the ISPE Annual Conference in Dublin will be exactly at the same time.?

6 年This booth is definitely worth visiting! Flexible (modular) chemical plants can produce various products using the same equipment with short down-times between campaigns, and quick introduction of new products to the market. Consequently, full automation is a prerequisite to realize such benefits of intensified continuous plants. See you in Hannover.
