Problems

...and then there are problems!?

As a matter of fact, problems exist wherever humans are. To solve these problems we further require another set of humans, and this leads to hierarchies. All in all, we become social animals and at a fundamental level, it lays the very foundation of the interdependent society. What organic chaos, isn’t it?

Google defines the problem as:?

“a matter or situation regarded as unwelcome or harmful and needing to be dealt with and overcome”

Problems are central to tasks we do on a daily basis. Whether we are solving problems for a client, supporting someone to solve problems, or figuring out new problems to be solved. They indeed can be trivial, simple, complex, easy, or even difficult.

On the work front, every person needs to be a problem solver. More problems one solves, more confidence s/he gains, and that somewhere matters a lot in being successful. Now, a problem can be solved in the following steps:

  • defining the problem
  • figuring out alternatives
  • selecting the best fitting alternative
  • implementing the fix and checking the outcome

The first step is the most important...after all, “A problem well stated is a problem half solved.

Amazingly, you will also find a song named "Problem" by Ariana Grande. The song is not about accumulating problems, but getting rid of them. This applies to real life as well. We want to get rid of problems, isn’t it? Instead, let’s become problem solvers!

Thanks for reading till this point.
